Me and Dr. Spencer are running an online beta course called The 27 Day Fat Loss Prescription. Dr. Spencer is a handsome man and very much in the know of what’s what when it comes to losing weight. I just handle the exercise portion. And it’s a fine portion, don’t get me wrong–as fine as anything. But it’s a distant second compared to the eating plan for when it comes to losing weight.
The idea that exercise has a lot to do with losing weight is a little misleading. I don’t want to say that it’s wrong–exercise is a salubrious thing, one we ought all of us be partaking in–I only want to say that it’s misleading, which is what I just did. Because when it comes to weight loss, the thing we need to pay particular attention to, is what we eat.
A simple, scientific experiment will presently bear me out. Take two people and put one of them on a tough workout routine/reasonable diet, and the other on a tough diet/reasonable workout routine. Hold all other variables equal, which is impossible, I get that–but this is not a real experiment, merely a thinking one, as it were–and monitor the result. Surely the person who focuses more on what they eat will lose more weight and faster than the person who focuses more on what they do in the gym.
The best results of my life, and those of my clients, come from the combination of a tough diet/reasonable workout routine. And the problem with most people who don’t get the body they’re after, is because they switch that around. They workout really, really hard–like the little devils they are–but then turn around and eat too much. It’s not very satisfying.
So scooch in and let me tell you a secret. If you want to lose weight, focus more on what goes into your mouth, and you won’t have to worry so much about what goes on at the gym. Exercise is still important, though. Of course it is.
Strong ON!
