I don’t know where I first saw this type of push up being done. Maybe it was Som who showed me it. Maybe it was Granny. But regardless, whoever enlightened me to this marvelous, magnificent move, I thank them. Because it’s awesome.
At first glance you might think this is a Hindu push up, or even a dive bomber. But pay closer attention than that. Because this one is a little bit different.
The Cobra-Style Push Up
Step 1: Start out in a down dog. Knees can be locked or bent. Doesn’t matter. But your back should be flat.
Step 2: Drop your knees and elbows as close to the ground as you can get them. This should cause you to look like like a cat lying in wait.
Step 3: “Glide” forward, and stay low, as if you were trying to get under a fence.
Step 4: Swoop up, and stretch the spine to finish. Reset.
