I took about every writing class I could in school and was offered in college but never learned how to use my writing to make money until I was done with school and unlearned everything they taught me in college. Writing is an art and I have been writing since I was a boy.
I remember one of my professors who was a pretty big drinker ast why don’t I go into journalism or something because with my wit I could land a gig at one of the big papers, probably. I told him because it would be a disgraceful thing having to write about what other people told me to and nothing for myself.
What I have learned about writing is that while the rules should be learned there are some that should be broken, and that the most important thing a writer can have is courage. If you do not have courage you will will never be read. You need the courage to make mistakes and to make people think and wonder. You need the courage to say what is right.
Me and my friend Jordan are going to do an online writing course starting on December 18th. Actually it is more of an online writing class. It won’t be that long even, because we aren’t talking about grammar or syntax. We are only talking about how to write persuasively in order that you might attract attention to your brand.

There are lots of famous and successful writers out there that break the rules of writing. Jack Kerouac is a writer that comes to mind – his writing style is very unique and controversial for his time. Sometimes following the rules is bland – as long as your writing successfully achieves what you want it to achieve then that is all that matters. The course sounds interesting – looking forward to seeing the results.
