I’m Pat Flynn, and I bet you can’t do this workout.
The I Bet You Can’t Do This Workout Series
I created the I Bet You Can’t Do This Workout series to be the premier, standalone, weekly fitness challenge. Each workout is designed to test a different capacity, a unique mode of strength or skill. Most of these routines you won’t be able to finish at first. And that’s OK. The point is that you tried and got better because of it.
You can think of each workout in the #IBetYouCantDoThisWorkout series to be reflective of those in my Extreme Kettlebell Challenges, as they both DEVELOP and DEMONSTRATE athletic ability, while burning calories alive. Think of it like this: If walking is like lifting a sail to the lands of better fitness and health, these workouts are like strapping yourself to a Tomahawk cruise missile.
There are two rules for each of these workouts.
- Intensity matters
- Technique matters more.
In other words, don’t add intensity by losing control of your technique. Be consistent. Use good form. Use good form. Use good form.
My challenge to YOU: Complete the workout, and either film a video, or take a picture of the aftermath. Upload to social media with the hashtag #Ibetyoucantdothisworkout.
Good luck and,
Strong ON!
– Pat
PS – Song in the video is Stone Ground by yours truly. I named it after a bottle of mustard.
This is an expanded (and more devilish) version of your “Hellion” complex. Even though that one only has 3 movements (One Are Swing, Snatch, Squat to Overhead Press)–if you do the full cycle: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 up and 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 down–you are completely done and done. I will be really surprised (and impressed) to see who can do the full Inferno up and back down.
An astute and correct observation, Duncan. I think most will make it ten with less difficult than they imagine. It’s the descent that gets ya.
Did it with a 35. 12 minutes without stopping going up. That was enough. Stayed at the top of the mountain. Great stuff.
Didn’t realize the descent until today. Will do it tomorrow.
Interesting approaching, camping out at the top a day or two. I’d say that’s fair.
I enjoyed this and it took me about 25 minutes. i used a 25lb Kettlebell.
Nice, Tracey!
40 lbs.
55 minutes.
good.
thanks for this!
Glad you gave it a go. Solid work.
Hi Pat
I did this last night with 12kg. Took me about 30-35 mins going up and down the ladder. Thanks!
Pretty good time, JC. Nice!
26:32. Rested for 2 minutes in at the top of the ladder. 12:22 on way up, 12:10 on way down. Used a 35 lb. bell. Thought about the 45, but thought better. The thrusters take it all out of you. Awesome workout.
Solid, Brian. Good timing with that amount of weight.
Did it with 35lbs, took me 23:30, just exploded the 8 reps down:-) nice workout??
