If you want to lose fat fast you need to eat low calorie and move around a lot. Now this doesn’t need to be the worst thing in the world and there are actually some ways you can do it that aren’t so terrible. Here, I’ll show you.
Modified Fasting
One of my favorite methods is to use a modified protein-sparing diet or what is otherwise called a “controlled fast.” A controlled fast is where you have just a couple a shakes throughout the day and then at night you have more of an actual meal. And this works because shakes are cheap and easy and pretty good tasting. They are also calorie controlled.
Now some people will squawk at me saying how you should eat “supplements” over “whole food” but really they just don’t know what they are talking about. Of course it is good to eat whole foods and not just supplements. But a shake with protein is food. And especially if you put some berries in it. Because look, guys, it’s not like I’m asking you to eat only pencil shavings or whatever. Which not to say that fiber isn’t good for you, but do you even understand what I am getting at?
Also there is what is ideal and then there is what is practical. And yes it would be very nice I agree if someone could take out the George Foreman in their cubicle and put a piece of salmon on it and roast that sucker up, then eat it off a bed of spinach with a few spritzes of olive oil and a squeeze of whatever that yellow fruit is, I forget the name of it. That would be just fine. Except nobody is going to do that and if they did somebody would call the fire department, probably. But nobody is going to call the fire department if you have a shake for lunch, I don’t think.
Now what I like a lot about controlled fasting is it makes going low calorie more doable. Shakes fill you up without costing a lot. They also taste good.
So what I would say is have three shakes (protein & berries, or maybe nut butter) and then dinner: Brekfy (which brekfy is just how I say breakfast but in a kind of funny way, sometimes) lunch, post workout. Each shake should be 200-300 calories, about. And then at night you can have that salmon I was mentioning.

What you have just described I also use as a way to offset the few feasts and parties I have in life. Sort of a day after damage control. I find that people expect a couple of blow outs per year, like Christmas or new year or a birthday. Don’t have to be perfect.

How long should you try the modified fasting for? I struggle with fasting for more than 48 hours. Also do you have any good protein shake recipes I can try? And, what do you use for protein? A protein powder? I’ll check out some of the links you’ve mentioned as well. Cheers!

Part of getting over the struggle is just getting used to the nutritional challenge. It takes time, patience, and preparation. Also, a cut like this should be a struggle–at least at first. And you should be hungry. That’s a part of how you know that it’s working : )
For protein, I like whey. Hemp is a good option, too. My go to is water, whey, berries, ice.
