The simple way to get started with fasting is to take two days a week and lower your calories on them. Amazing, isn’t it? But here, listen for a minute. Because the truth is you don’t have to do long fasts to get a lot out of it. Honestly most of the time your fasts can be pretty short.
Can we talk about this?
The 5/2 Fast
The 5/2 Fast got popular a while back when some British guy wrote about it. It got a little gimmicky, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t useful. I actually like the 5/2 Fast. I think it is very useful.
Two days a week, you eat two meals of five hundred calories or less. Most people will want to make those meals lunch and dinner.
This method works and that’s because it isn’t all that hard to do. You just skip breakfast and sort of lengthen the fast you made in your sleep then eat two meals that don’t have all that many calories in them. And you only have to do it twice a week.
Here are some of the details.

Pat, Just want to lwt you know that since I am off caffeine for 2 weeks for a new diet that I am drinking herbal coffee. Really the ‘teabag’ is labeled herbal coffee as it tastes like coffee – very deep and robust. It is actually Teeccino’s dandelion dark roast that has chicory, dandelion and ramon.
Best,
Scott

I like that stuff, too, Scott! All of the varieties I’ve tried have been delicious.

I love that stuff too, but it has carob, I think. I wonder how many carbs are it. I sometimes make bullet-proof teeccino, since I love my coffee too much to doctor it up.

Total carbs = 4g per teabag. I can live iwth that!
