The Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers where a number is the addition of the previous two numbers: for example, 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, etc. (0 + 1 = 1; 1 + 1 = 2; you get the point). As it happens, this sequence makes for a fantastic rep scheme and not just for individual sets, but complexes also.
Here’s a video where I explain the sequence with a cool hairdo and then apply it to a full body kettlebell complex:
And here are a few other ways you can play around with the Fibonacci sequence in complex-format. Use them however you see inappropriate.
Lower body finisher:
8 double clean
5 front squat
5 double clean
3 front squat
3 double clean
2 front squat
2 double clean
1 front squat
Upper body finisher:
Same thing as above, just replace double clean with push press, and front squat with push up.
Escalation:
1 double military press
2 push press
3 Front squat
5 Double clean
8 Front squat
Feel free to submit your own sequences in the comments.
