Dr. Rob Koons returns to The Pat Flynn Show to discuss his recently released book A Lutheran’s Case for Roman Catholicism. Calling himself one of the slowest converts in Church history, Rob’s book explains how he thought his way through the doctrinal differences of Catholics and Protestants, including Justification, Sola-Scriptura, and the Papacy. Interestingly, most of Rob’s book was written while he was still a practicing Lutheran, offering a raw, authentic look at a professional philosopher wrestling with serious worldview considerations, upon which he eventually changed his mind.

Hi Pat. I would love to hear a discussion between Rob Koons and Dr. Jordan B. Cooper on your show about this book. Dr. Cooper is a very smart Lutheran Pastor with many classical theistic leanings. He is starting a series on his YouTube channel right now crituquing Rob’s book. I think a discussion between these two would be extremely fruitful given Dr. Cooper’s general openness to classical theism and help clear up many misconceptions that Dr. Cooper has of Rob’s positions.

Chris, thanks for the suggestion. That sounds like it could be a fascinating conversation, and one I would be interested in hosting if both participants are willing. I’ll see what I can do!
